Alfonso Diaz (died 1984) was a co-leader of the Diaz Brothers gang, alongside his brother Edgar Diaz. In 1984, the two brothers were killed during a gang war with Tony Montana.
Biography[]
Alfonso Diaz was the brother of Edgar Diaz, and the two of them moved from Colombia to Miami, Florida to become involved with the cocaine industry. The Diaz Brothers built up a powerful organization during the 1980s, and they took over Little Havana following Tony Montana's disappearance in 1983. Montana made a return to power in February 1984, exerting his control over much of the neighborhood through eliminating the Diaz Gang's nests and taking over local businesses. The Diaz brothers retaliated by having Montana's mother killed and by attempting to kill Montana at the Babylon Club, but Montana survived, and he sought vengance. He killed Edgar with a chainsaw at Diaz Motors, and Alfonso attempted to escape in a sports car. Montana chased him down and shot at his car until it caught fire in a Little Havana alleyway, and Diaz was forced to exit the vehicle. Montana proceeded to shoot him dead, avenging his mother and destroying their gang.
