"If I had a gun in one hand a fine piece of cash under the other, I'm a happy guy."
―Billy-Joe explains to Tony what is the price of his happiness

Billy-Joe is a minor citizen character in the game Scarface: The World Is Yours.

Background[]

Billy-Joe (real name Cooter) is a redneck from Miami's Trailer Park and possible relative of Willy-Joe, Jimmy-Joe, Clifton or Delmont. Perhaps he could also be related to Jeffica Harkley.

He appears to be the one most of the residents from the Trailer Park look up to, as he appears as the leader of the Trailer Park Rednecks in Oakley Drive-In Theatre mission.

Interactions[]

Billy-Joe can always be found in the Trailer Park, and sometimes in the U-Gin Shotgun Bar. Billy is also a fighter in Bloodsport. Alternatively, Billy can be found driving with a vehicle (usually a Shag Van) around the park or the roads leading out of it to Beach Drive or South Beach.

During the Oakley Drive-In front mission, Billy will appear as the leader of the Trailer Park gang in the last section on a SAW-controlled Mojave.

Billy-Joe and a clone of his might also appear as bodyguards of Mackintosh on the Black Sands island's village during one of The Sandman's leads where Mackintosh must be extorted for information. Billies will always be armed with chainsaws, so Tony should be very careful when dealing with the butcher. The player should always take care of the Billies first.

Conversation with Tony[]

"Tony: Why do you choose to live in a swamp, man?
Billy-Joe: Why do you choose to listen to that pissant shit music and fuck your cat in private, while yellin' your momma's name?
Tony: Hey! Don't you talk about my mama!
Billy: Well don't come in here with all your fancy shit and expect a warm and friendly welcome, unless of course, you're talkin' bout' moonshine or Johnny Cash.
Tony: Johnny Cash? Eh, he's OK. Except I didn't really like all that whole Ring of Fire business, y'know?
Billy: Well, that's the exact sort o' shit I'm talkin' bout'! What kinda mule birthed your sorry ass!? Johnny Cash's a fuckin' God ya'll have to respect!
Tony: Hey! There is only one person I respect, ok? And that's me.
Billy: Well I guess you have to if you expect to wake up the next morning with your right-hand! Or are you rafters left-handed?"
―Tony's first chat with Cooter

Trivia[]

  • Billy is a big fan of Johnny Cash's music, as is expected from people like him. JC's music can also be heard playing at the Bloodsport cage in Trailer Park.
  • Like his relative Willy-Joe, Billy specialises in a Trailer park delicacy known as the 'Gator pie', which doesn't exist in real life. This is actually reference to one of Louise Mathews' books.
    • There exists a Savoury Gator Pie recipe on the internet, however, it came out in 2024.
  • It is possible that most of the Caucasian people in the Trailer park are his relatives and siblings as the game humorously implies through character quotes (including Tony Montana's) that the Trailer Park residents are inbred.
  • According to his quotes, he appears to be religious although his religious views seem to be far-fetched in his hillbilly culture background.
