"I ♥ this country, its politicians makes us criminals look honest."
―Bob admits what he likes about America

Bob Santana is a minor enemy character in the game Scarface: The World Is Yours.

Background[]

Born as Roberto Santana, Bob is likely a lifelong criminal and has been since he ran with Gaspar Gomez back in Mexico. When Gomez expanded his drug empire into Miami, in America, Bob followed suit.

Interactions[]

Bob can be found in any gang nest in the game in South Beach and North Beach, as well as the Trailer Park and its gas station, as those are all Gomez Cartel territories. Bob is the most common Gomez mook and spawns a lot more than the other members of the said cartel. There will usually be more than one Bob fighting the player when clearing gang nest missions in both Beaches. Bob, like all the other rival gangsters from almost any cartel, can also be talked to if the player has a low gang heat, and he usually makes drug or torture-related comments. He always spawns in the Trailer Park and the nearby gas station, even after the end of the game.

Mission wise, Bob first appears in "Gaspar Gomez", where he will be one of the many goons protecting Ricardo on the balcony of the La Normande. After Tony Montana steals Gomez's Brahma in the hotel's basement parking lot, Bob and his men give chase to him all the way to Downtown. Even with choppers. The next time we see Bob in the game, he is surprisingly working for Pablo, George Sheffield's right-hand-man, despite being in Gaspar Gomez's cartel, but this is just the early sign of Sheffield's betrayal of Montana to Gomez and Alejandro Sosa. Bob is ordered to take Tony's weapons away and he sits at the back of the car when Pablo takes Montana to the Freedom Town to be assassinated.

Bob can next be encountered as a common enemy during the Chi Peso Trattoria and Stein Jewelry front missions. In the latter, him and his crew just robbed the North Beach Bank for diamonds and were taking off with the loot, so Brent Stein orders Montana to go after them, kill them and get them the jewels back.

Bob will also appear in Felix's South and North Beach leads, usually driving in a vehicle, trying to escape and must be killed by the player.

Personality and traits[]

It appears that this man was Gaspar Gomez's most trusted henchman and capo, as he was trusted enough to betray Tony with Pablo when George Sheffield joined Gaspar's (and Sosa's) alliance. Judging from his quotes, he had a long experience with drugs and torturing people who betrayed Gomez, specifically by plucking their eyebrows off. He also claims that he owns a dog, who accidentally found his secret drug stash, and wishes he could get a woman one day. This would mean that despite his job as a cold-blooded gangster, Bob still has a human side to him.

Trivia[]

  • He shares a very similar character model to Freddy Y., another one of Gomez henchmen.
  • Hilariously, Bob may sometimes get ran over by a car when he steps on the road near the gas station just outside the Trailer Park.
    • Unlike with Antonio Montana, when the citizen type NCP's run over Bob, he will just get up and act like nothing happened. However, this is possibly due to game mechanics rather than Bob having any sort of moral code to not attack innocents, especially since he was just ran over.
  • When fighting Montana, he shares his quotes with Bret Cagney, Juan and Jose.
