The Miami Industrial Zone is a neighborhood on an island in Miami connected by the bridges to North Beach and Downtown. Due to its proximity to Downtown, it was heavily influenced by Contreras Cartel, who had a strong presence in Downtown in the 1980's, before the Montana Cartel finally took it over.
The Industrial Zone is the location of the famous Freedom Town refuge center, which made an appearance in the game, as well as in the movie.
History[]
The Miami Industrial Zone is what it seems to be, an area filled with factories and smokestacks. The Industrial Zone was an impoverished community, as the poor people worked at the various smokestacks seen in the centre of the town, while the wealthy rather lived in North Beach and South Beach. It was considered a part of the Downtown, as it was close in proximity to Downtown itself.
In 1980-84, the Industrial Zone was influenced by Contreras Cartel, a gang that was based in Downtown, and was the second most powerful gang in Miami, behind only the Gomez Cartel. The Industrial Zone was conquered in 1983 by Tony Montana's cartel after he killed all of the Contreras Cartel members in their gang nests there and even killed their bosses, Hervé Colosis at Logan's garage, and Nacho Contreras on the Black Sands on the Islands. However, after Montana had gone and lived wealthy again, the zone was abandoned by the criminal underworld, and workers finally were able to work normally here again.
However, despite this, the remnants of Nacho's cartel reappeared, making the gang situation in the Industrial Zone permanent. For example, if you killed all the gang members in a certain territory there, like near the gas station or under the overpass, the game will say "You killed them" and the last henchman will drop a big box of money. When it says "You killed them", that means that they will come back and reappear again every time the player enters the zone after a while, as opposed to when it says "(Gang name) eliminated", where it means that the gang was extinct, so to speak.
There is a money trick at the chop shop in Logan's garage in the Industrial Zone where Nacho's goons keep spawning after entering the zone each time. Simply just come to the docking area where the anchor icon is on the map and you'll find gang members roaming around there near the containers. Kill the guys and the game will say "You Killed Them" repeatedly and they will drop big loads of cash and drugs when killed. Turn around and kill the other spawning gang members, go back to the docks, kill those gang members there again, rinse and repeat. The trick is very helpful if the player wishes to not follow any Felix leads or Sandman leads for money and can't make any more money through drug deals, or refuses to play the Supplier Runs or Distribution missions. Ideally, this is the easiest way to acquire fast money and drugs to then sell in Miami. After completion of the story mission "Un-load", the chop shop becomes vacant and this trick will no longer work.
Another known trick to make easy money there is by using the code known as "FPATCH", which raises Tony's Balls meter to full and he can then peacefully sell his sperm at the sperm bank entering the Zone, right besides the gas station Nacho's mooks own. However, this method may take some time, as the player will need to keep repeating the cheat over and over again for a while in order to sell his sperm and make some real money. Also, make sure that Montana's gang heat is low, otherwise Bret Cagney and his boys from the gas station will try to kill you.
