The Sandman (real name unknown) is a Afro-Latin drug dealer working in The Islands. He appears in the video game Scarface. In some missions throughout the video game, Tony Montana will have to protect this character. The Sandman also runs his own drug cartel that rivals Alejandro Sosa's, and allies his cartel with Tony's, as Sosa is at war with both the Sandman and Tony: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Tony meets a woman named Venus, who once dated the Sandman. However, the Sandman has gotten over her and does not let Tony's interest in Venus get in the way of their mutual vendetta against Sosa.
Behind the scenes[]
- The Sandman was voiced by Steven Bauer in Scarface - The World is Yours, who also portrayed Manny Ribera in the Scarface film.
- During the initial development of Scarface - The World is Yours, it was rumored that Bauer was scheduled to reprise his role as Manny Ribera in the game, but at the final, it was revealed that he was going to voice a new character, who resulted to be The Sandman.
- The character's nickname, the Sandman, could have been taken from Neil Gaiman's popular comic book series The Sandman. However, exists the possibility that the nickname was taken from the Spider-Man's foe Sandman.
